The Gonzaga Eagles (Washington, DC) basketball nipped the host Bishop McNamara Mustangs (Forestville, MD), 61-55 in Friday's league test.

The Eagles (18-5) will now prepare for their test against St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, MD). The Knights go into the Washington Catholic test with a 10-12 record. In their last test, St. Mary's Ryken was tipped by St. John's (Washington, DC), 71-58, in a league test.

The Mustangs now own a 14-8 record. They play next when they travel to St. John's for a Washington Catholic test on Saturday, February 6. Bishop McNamara will encounter a Cadets squad coming off a 71-58 league win over St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, MD). The Cadets record now stands at 22-2.
