The Red Mountain Mountain Lions (Mesa, AZ) softball nipped the host Corona del Sol Aztecs (Tempe, AZ), 4-3 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Mountain Lions (13-6) will now prepare for their bout against Skyline (Mesa, AZ). The Coyotes go into the 6A East Valley bout with a 3-11 record. In their last bout, Skyline was edged by Red Mountain (Mesa, AZ), 12-0, in a league bout.

The Aztecs now possess a 11-10 record. They play next when they travel to Chaparral for a non-league bout on Tuesday, April 12.
