Arizona High School Basketball - Copper Canyon overwhelms La Joya Community
February 4, 2020: Glendale, AZ 85305 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Copper Canyon Aztecs (Glendale, AZ) and the visiting La Joya Community Fighting Lobos (Avondale, AZ), saw Copper Canyon's basketball squad wallop La Joya Community by a tally of 38-17.
With the victory, Copper Canyon improves its record to 11-9 on the campaign. The Aztecs host Tolleson (Tolleson, AZ) to play the Wolverines in a 6A Southwest game on Friday, February 7. The Wolverines enter the game with a record of 6-15. Tolleson lost 48-45 in their recent league game against Shadow Ridge (Surprise, AZ)
With the defeat, La Joya Community moves to 1-18 on the year. The Fighting lobos host Valley Vista (Surprise, AZ) to face the Monsoon in a 6A Southwest game on Friday, February 7. The Monsoon enter the game with a record of 21-3. Valley Vista won 43-42 in their recent non-league game against Millennium (Goodyear, AZ)
