In Friday's league match, the host DeKalb Barons football squad scored a close 28-21 victory over the Columbia City Eagles.

In their next game, the Barons clash with the Huntington North Vikings (Huntington, IN) in a Northeast 8 match, on Friday, September 21. DeKalb will attempt to move on its 2-3 season record. The Vikings enter the match with a 2-3 record after their 34-14 league win over Bellmont (Decatur, IN).

The Eagles (3-2) will now prepare for their match against New Haven (New Haven, IN). The Bulldogs enter the Northeast 8 match with a 3-2 record. In their last match, New Haven held off Norwell (Ossian, IN), 14-7, in a league match.
