Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) fans left the game satisfied Friday as they observed their football team nudge the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 23-22 in a league test.

With the win, Hickory improves its record to 2-5 on the season. The Red Tornadoes travel to Watauga (Boone, NC) to confront the Pioneers in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Friday, October 11. The Pioneers go into the test with a record of 6-1. Watauga won 42-10 in their recent league test against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)

With the loss, Freedom moves to 4-3 on the season. The Patriots host Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to confront the Cougars in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Friday, October 11. The Cougars go into the test with a record of 4-2. Alexander Central lost 42-10 in their recent league test against Watauga (Boone, NC)
