The Sandy Creek Cougars held off the host Sandhills Valley Mavericks football team by a count of 24-18 in Thursday's non-league outing.

With the win, Sandy Creek upgrades its record to 6-3 on the season. The Cougars travel to St. Patrick's (North Platte, NE) to encounter the Irish in a non-league outing on Friday, October 28. The Irish go into the outing with a record of 9-0. St. Patrick's won 56-24 in their recent non-league outing against Elkhorn Valley (Tilden, NE)
