Virginia High School Basketball - L.C. Bird can't hold off Nansemond River
December 28, 2024: Suffolk, VA 23434 Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA) supporters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting L.C. Bird Skyhawks (Chesterfield, VA), 50-49 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Nansemond River advances its record to 6-2 on the year. The Warriors travel to Manor (Portsmouth, VA) to face the Mustangs in a non-league match on Saturday, January 4. The Mustangs enter the match with a record of 3-6. Manor won 54-43 in their recent non-league match against Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA)
The Skyhawks now own a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Huguenot for a Dominion match on Wednesday, January 8. L.C. Bird will face a Falcons squad coming off a 65-61 non-league loss to Thomas Dale (Chester, VA). The Falcons record now stands at 2-3.
