Virginia High School Basketball - St. James can't hold off Gate City
December 21, 2024: Gate City, VA 24251 Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting St. James Sharks (Murrells Inlet, SC), 53-51 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Gate City advances its record to 2-3 on the year. The Blue Devils travel to David Crockett (Jonesborough, TN) to face the Pioneers in a non-league match on Monday, December 23. The Pioneers enter the match with a record of 8-3. David Crockett lost 59-49 in their recent non-league match against Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN)
The Sharks now own a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wando for a non-league match on Friday, January 3. St. James will face a Warriors squad coming off a 59-38 non-league loss to James Island (Charleston, SC). The Warriors record now stands at 2-11.
