December 6, 2018: Newton, MS 39345 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Newton Tigers (Newton, MS) and the visiting Forest Bearcats (Forest, MS), saw Newton's basketball squad hold off Forest by a tally of 57-53.
With the victory, Newton improves its record to 8-0 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Southeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS) to play the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 11. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 6-1. Southeast Lauderdale won 51-30 in their recent non-league challenge against Quitman (Quitman, MS)
Next up, the Bearcats play the Brandon Bulldogs (Brandon, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 8. Forest will attempt to improve on its 7-2 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 5-5 record after their 57-53 non-league loss to Madison Central (Madison, MS).
