In Friday's non-league game, the Poth Pirates (Poth, TX) football team smashed the host Falls City Beavers (Falls City, TX), by a final score of 58-0.

The Pirates (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Karnes City (Karnes City, TX). The Badgers come into the 3A-2 Region IV District 15 game with a 0-2 record. In their last game, Karnes City was trounced by Woodville (Woodville, TX), 56-12, in a non-league game.

The Beavers now hold a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Flatonia for a non-league game on Friday, September 11. Falls City will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 25-6 non-league win over Stockdale (Stockdale, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-0.
