The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Central Red Devils (Phenix City, AL) and the visiting Hewitt-Trussville Huskies (Trussville, AL), observed Central's football squad thwart Hewitt-Trussville by a count of 37-21.

The Red Devils now own a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Smiths Station for a 7A Region 2 contest on Friday, August 26. Central will play a Panthers squad coming off a 49-20 non-league loss to LaGrange (LaGrange, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 0-1.

Coming up next, the Huskies play the Gadsden City Titans (Gadsden, AL) in a non-league contest, on Friday, August 26. Hewitt-Trussville will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Titans go into the contest with a 0-1 record after their 69-7 non-league loss to Carrollton (Carrollton, GA).
