The Casa Grande Cougars nipped the visiting Desert Edge Scorpions softball squad by a final score of 9-8 in Tuesday's non-league battle.

The Cougars (3-5) will now prepare for their battle against Williams Field (Gilbert, AZ). The Black Hawks go into the non-league battle with a 9-1 record.

The Scorpions now possess a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to Notre Dame Prep for a non-league battle on Thursday, March 7. Desert Edge will meet a Saints squad coming off a 5-1 non-league win over Centennial (Peoria, AZ). The Saints record now stands at 5-5.
