January 13, 2018: Sloan, IA 51055 In Saturday's non-league outing, the Westwood Rebels (Sloan, IA) basketball squad beat the visiting Ponca Indians (Ponca, NE), by a count of 64-45.
The Rebels (12-4) will now prepare for their outing against Battle Creek-Ida Grove/Odebolt-Arthur (Ida Grove, IA). The Falcons go into the Western Valley - North outing with a 2-14 record. In their last outing, Battle Creek-Ida Grove/Odebolt-Arthur was topped by Denison-Schleswig (Denison, IA), 39-34, in a non-league outing.
The Indians now hold a 9-7 record. They play next when they travel to Winnebago for a C1 District 5 outing on Tuesday, January 16. Ponca will clash with a Indians squad coming off a 69-55 league loss to Wynot (Wynot, NE). The Indians record now stands at 6-7.
