In Friday's league contest, the visiting Nemaha Central Thunder basketball team scored a close 72-65 triumph over the Riley County Falcons.

The Thunder (15-2) will now prepare for their contest against Olpe (Olpe, KS). The Eagles go into the non-league contest with a 18-1 record. In their last contest, Olpe nipped Osage City (Osage City, KS), 64-39, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Falcons battle the St. Marys Bears (St. Marys, KS) in a Big East contest, on Tuesday, February 18. Riley County will attempt to better on its 5-12 season record. The Bears go into the contest with a 13-4 record after their 68-62 league loss to Hiawatha (Hiawatha, KS).
