In Saturday's non-league outing, the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) basketball squad nipped the visiting Cox Mill Chargers (Concord, NC), by a margin of 62-56.

The Warriors (22-7) will now prepare for their outing against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots go into the non-league contest with a 27-1 record. In their last contest, Freedom edged Hickory (Hickory, NC), 73-54, in a non-league contest.
