Desert Mountain Wolves (Scottsdale, AZ) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Gilbert Tigers (Gilbert, AZ), 6-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Wolves now sport a 16-1 record. They take the field next when they host Horizon for a 5A Northeast Valley challenge on Tuesday, March 29.

With the loss, Gilbert falls to 8-4 on the campaign. The Tigers host Glendale (Glendale, AZ) to face the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 24. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 3-6. Glendale lost 24-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Central (Phoenix, AZ)
