North Carolina High School Basketball - Southern Wayne holds off Spring Creek
December 28, 2018: Seven Springs, NC 28578 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Southern Wayne Saints (Dudley, NC) and the host Spring Creek Gators (Seven Springs, NC), saw Southern Wayne's basketball squad hold off Spring Creek by a tally of 60-57.
With the victory, Southern Wayne improves its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Saints travel to South Central (Winterville, NC) to confront the Falcons in a Eastern Carolina 3A/4A challenge on Wednesday, January 2. The Falcons come into the challenge with a record of 10-1. South Central lost 63-58 in their recent non-league challenge against Ranney (Tinton Falls, NJ)
Next up, the Gators confront the East Duplin Panthers (Beulaville, NC) in a East Central 2A challenge, on Wednesday, January 2. Spring Creek will attempt to improve on its 6-3 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 68-38 non-league loss to James Kenan (Warsaw, NC).
