Minneapolis Lions (Minneapolis, KS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Russell Broncos (Russell, KS), 57-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Minneapolis upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Lions host Bennington (Bennington, KS) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 4. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 1-0. Bennington won 62-52 in their recent non-league challenge against Centre (Lost Springs, KS)

Next up, the Broncos play the Phillipsburg Panthers (Phillipsburg, KS) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 3. Russell will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 50-39 league win over Ellis (Ellis, KS).
