January 6, 2025: Negaunee, MI 49866 The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI) and the visiting Calumet Copper Kings (Calumet, MI), observed Negaunee's basketball team overwhelm Calumet by a margin of 48-19.
The Miners (5-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Gwinn (Gwinn, MI). The Modeltowners come into the Mid-Peninsula challenge with a 2-5 record. In their last challenge, Gwinn was trounced by Houghton (Houghton, MI), 80-50, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Copper Kings battle the West Iron County Wykons (Iron River, MI) in a Western Peninsula challenge, on Thursday, January 9. Calumet will attempt to better on its 5-4 season record. The Wykons come into the challenge with a 0-8 record after their 70-46 non-league loss to Norway (Norway, MI).
