Shields Panthers (Beatrice, AL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Monroe County Tigers (Monroeville, AL), 69-29 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Shields upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Panthers host Hillcrest (Evergreen, AL) to play the Jaguars in a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 10. The Jaguars come into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Tigers play the Clarke County Bulldogs (Grove Hill, AL) in a non-league test, on Sunday, January 10. Monroe County will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record.
