Red Mountain Mountain Lions (Mesa, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Perry Pumas (Gilbert, AZ), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Mountain Lions now own a 22-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Queen Creek for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 4. Red Mountain will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Sunnyslope (Phoenix, AZ). The Bulldogs record now stands at 24-4.

With the loss, Perry falls to 23-7 on the campaign. The Pumas host Sunnyslope (Phoenix, AZ) to face the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 3. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 28-4. Sunnyslope lost 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Queen Creek (Queen Creek, AZ)
