Kentucky High School Softball - Somerset bounces Harlan County
May 12, 2018: Somerset, KY 42501 Somerset Briar Jumpers (Somerset, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Harlan County Black Bears (Harlan, KY), 8-1 in a league challenge.
The Briar Jumpers now own a 18-13 record. They take the field next when they host Bryan Station for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 14. Somerset will battle a Defenders squad coming off a 14-0 league loss to Scott County (Georgetown, KY). The Defenders record now stands at 7-16.
With the loss, Harlan County falls to 12-10 on the campaign. The Black bears travel to South Laurel (London, KY) to battle the Cardinals in a District 50 challenge on Saturday, May 12. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 17-11. South Laurel lost 8-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Somerset (Somerset, KY)
