Andrew Johnson has been named player of the year. "Andrew is our team's Player of the Year on Maxpreps for the second consecutive season. He was our floor general for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons. During the time he led us, our team's record was 45-7. He led us in scoring this year with 17.6 points-per-game. He led us in assists at 5.7 per-game. He led us in steals at 64. He grabbed 84 rebounds and blocked seven shots. He had an assists-to-turnovers ratio of 1.7-to-1 (156/92). That's a difficult ratio to maintain at the high school level, especially when one considers how much he handled the ball. On the defensive side of the court, Andrew and Norris Dupree constantly disrupted our opponents' offenses at the point of attack. Our opponents' game plans probably had stopping Andrew as Number One on their lists. Against what was essentially a college team in the State Final this year (the Bishop Gorman Gaels), Andrew scored 18 points and had four assists. He played against the Gorman machine showing absolutely no fear. As of this writing (2-26-2012), we don't know where Andrew will play at the next level for 2012-2013. No matter where he plays, he will be a solid asset for a college team. CONGRATULATIONS ANDREW! We will miss you. Best wishes to you in all your endeavors both on the court and off the court."
