Mya Thomas has been named player of the year. "Mya is a senior this year but has been my MVP since she was a freshman. She has helped her team to a winning season every year. Mya is by definition a true point guard. She handles the tempo of the game. She has had to take over many games to help insure the win. She has had seasons where she averaged 23 points a game and has scored as many as 42 in a single game but she is also very unselfish when ever she could afford to be and shares the wealth; especially with her team mates that don't always have the opportunity to have a huge impact normally, Mya will find a way to involve them in the game. Her leadership skills have grown over the years, she has always been determined & dedicated but I've seen growth each year in how she rallies her team together with pre-game inspiration videos, pep talks, or just her enthusiasm for playing!!! Mya has scored well over a 1000 points in her high school career, often double figures in rebounding & assists and leads each category overall. #Blessed"
