Taylor Young has been named player of the year. "Taylor had a huge year on the mound for the Firebirds. Taylor posted an excellent 2.62ERA and recorded all (11 wins) but 1 win for the Firebirds. Throughout the season, Taylor was asked to pitch day after day, 3 games a week a lot of times. Taylor not only had a great year on the mound, but also at the plate. Her batting average was the 3rd highest on the team at .340 and she drove in 11 runs this season. Her .340 batting average was a huge improvement from her Junior season. Taylor found herself in the top half of the batting order this season. Taylor Young is well deserving of the team MVP and will truly be missed next season! "
