September 1, 2006: Glen, MS 38846 In Friday's non-league bout, the visiting Biggersville Lions football team scored a close 22-20 victory over the Alcorn Central Bears.
The Lions (1-1) will now prepare for their bout against Smithville (Smithville, MS). The Seminoles go into the 1A Region 1 challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Smithville was tipped by West Oktibbeha (Maben, MS), 36-20, in a league challenge.
With the defeat, Alcorn Central moves to 0-2 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Belmont (Belmont, MS) to clash with the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Friday, September 8. The Cardinals go into the challenge with a record of 0-2. Belmont lost 47-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Tishomingo County (Iuka, MS)
