In Friday's non-league contest, the Capitol Lions (Baton Rouge, LA) football team defeated the visiting Belaire Bengals (Baton Rouge, LA), by a score of 28-12.

Next up, the Lions meet the Parkview Baptist Eagles (Baton Rouge, LA) in a 3A District 8 contest, on Friday, September 22. Capitol will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Eagles enter the contest with a 2-1 record after their 31-20 non-league win over Central (Baton Rouge, LA).
