October 3, 2008: Eureka, IL In Friday's league game, the Central Catholic Saints (Bloomington, IL) football team smashed the host Eureka/Roanoke-Benson Hornets (Eureka, IL), by a score of 42-7.
The Saints (6-0) will now prepare for their game against Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL). The Bulldogs come into the Corn Belt game with a 6-0 record. In their last game, Mahomet-Seymour overwhelmed Pontiac (Pontiac, IL), 21-17, in a league game.
The Hornets now sport a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rochester for a Corn Belt game on Friday, October 10. Eureka/Roanoke-Benson will meet a Rockets team coming off a 25-6 league win over University (Normal, IL). The Rockets record now stands at 5-1.
