Virginia High School Softball - Colonial Beach nudges James Monroe
May 18, 2022: Fredericksburg, VA 22401 Colonial Beach Drifters (Colonial Beach, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host James Monroe Yellow Jackets (Fredericksburg, VA), 1-0 in a league challenge.
The Drifters now own a 7-7 record. They take the field next when they host Rappahannock for a Northern Neck challenge on Friday, May 20. Colonial Beach will face a Raiders squad coming off a 5-0 league win over Essex (Tappahannock, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 13-1.
With the loss, James Monroe falls to 0-11 on the campaign. The Yellow jackets host Culpeper County (Culpeper, VA) to face the Blue Devils in a Battlefield challenge on Thursday, May 19. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a record of 3-15. Culpeper County lost 7-5 in their recent league challenge against Eastern View (Culpeper, VA)
