The Lamar Texans football squad scored 45 points and limited the visiting The Woodlands Highlanders to 21 in the Texans non-league win on Friday.

The Texans now possess a 2-0 record. They play next when they travel to Clear Falls for a non-league battle on Friday, September 8. Lamar will play a Knights squad coming off a 32-14 non-league loss to Summer Creek (Houston, TX). The Knights record now stands at 0-2.

Coming up next, the Highlanders play the Oak Ridge War Eagles (Conroe, TX) in a 6A Region II District 13 battle, on Friday, September 8. The Woodlands will attempt to advance on its 0-2 season record. The War Eagles go into the battle with a 1-1 record after their 41-34 non-league win over Stratford (Houston, TX).
