Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks (Tucson, AZ) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mountain View Mountain Lions (Tucson, AZ), 59-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Ironwood Ridge upgrades its record to 15-6 on the season. The Nighthawks travel to Cienega (Vail, AZ) to clash with the Bobcats in a 5A Southern game on Thursday, January 18. The Bobcats enter the game with a record of 9-6. Cienega won 56-40 in their recent league game against Buena (Sierra Vista, AZ)

With the defeat, Mountain View moves to 7-13 on the year. The Mountain lions travel to Sahuaro (Tucson, AZ) to face the Cougars in a 5A Southern game on Thursday, January 18. The Cougars enter the game with a record of 17-2. Sahuaro won 65-44 in their recent non-league game against Sunnyside (Tucson, AZ)
