Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Sayre Spartans (Lexington, KY) and the visiting Holmes Bulldogs (Covington, KY), saw Sayre's basketball squad knock off Holmes by a count of 40-27.

With the victory, Sayre upgrades its record to 2-6 on the campaign. The Spartans host Scott County (Georgetown, KY) to play the Cardinals in a District 42 challenge on Monday, December 18. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a record of 4-5. Scott County won 74-38 in their recent non-league challenge against Western Hills (Frankfort, KY)
