Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Thoreau upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Hawks travel to Rehoboth Christian (Rehoboth, NM) to battle the Lynx in a non-league test on Tuesday, April 3. The Lynx come into the test with a record of 2-1. Rehoboth Christian lost 16-3 in their recent non-league test against Non Varsity Opponent (, )

With the defeat, Tohatchi falls to 0-1 on the season. The Cougars host Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to battle the Eagles in a non-league test on Saturday, March 31.
