In Wednesday's league contest, the Discovery Canyon Thunder (Colorado Springs, CO) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Sand Creek Scorpions (Colorado Springs, CO), by a margin of 15-4.

With the triumph, Discovery Canyon moves its record to 1-10 on the year. The Thunder travel to Air Academy (US Air Force Academy, CO) to play the Kadets in a 5A/4A Pikes Peak contest on Monday, September 16. The Kadets come into the contest with a record of 6-5. Air Academy lost 13-3 in their recent non-league contest against Pueblo Centennial (Pueblo, CO)

In their next game, the Scorpions play the Widefield Gladiators (Colorado Springs, CO) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 13. Sand Creek will attempt to move on its 2-6 season record. The Gladiators come into the contest with a 5-3 record after their 14-3 league win over The Classical Academy (Colorado Springs, CO).
