New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds (New Ulm, MN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host United South Central Rebels (Wells, MN), 54-49 in a league bout.

With the win, New Ulm Cathedral upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Greyhounds travel to Sleepy Eye (Sleepy Eye, MN) to play the Indians in a A Section 2 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 10-1. Sleepy Eye lost 56-53 in their recent non-league bout against Minneota (Minneota, MN)

Next up, the Rebels play the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics (Lyle, MN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 2. United South Central will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Athletics go into the bout with a 0-10 record after their 41-39 non-league loss to Klawock (Klawock, AK).
