The Sioux Valley Cossacks held off the host Groton Tigers football team by a count of 21-20 in Friday's non-league outing.

With the win, Sioux Valley upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Cossacks host McCook Central/Montrose (Salem, SD) to encounter the Cougars in a Big East outing on Friday, October 3. The Cougars go into the outing with a record of 4-0. McCook Central/Montrose won 49-0 in their recent non-league outing against Elk Point-Jefferson (Elk Point, SD)
