Bishop England Battling Bishops (Charleston, SC) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Cathedral Academy Generals (North Charleston, SC), 40-39 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Bishop England upgrades its record to 15-7 on the campaign. The Battling Bishops host Charleston Math & Science (Charleston, SC) to play the Riptide in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Riptide come into the bout with a record of 9-10.

Next up, the Generals play the St. John's Christian Academy Cavaliers (Moncks Corner, SC) in a SCISA AA Region I bout, on Friday, January 26. Cathedral Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 18-7 season record. The Cavaliers come into the bout with a 5-11 record after their 74-65 league win over Andrew Jackson Academy (Ehrhardt, SC).
