New Mexico High School Basketball - Wingate nips Cuba
January 18, 2019: Cuba, NM 87013 Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Cuba Rams (Cuba, NM), 60-58 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Wingate upgrades its record to 8-9 on the campaign. The travel to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to play the Eagles in a 3A District 1 bout on Tuesday, January 22. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 8-9. Navajo Prep lost 53-46 in their recent league bout against Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM)
Next up, the Rams play the Jemez Valley Warriors (Jemez Pueblo, NM) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 19. Cuba will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 10-4 record after their 54-41 league win over To'hajiilee (To'hajiilee, NM).
