Mississippi High School Basketball - Wheeler nips Tremont

January 30, 2024: Tremont, MS 38876

Wheeler Eagles (Wheeler, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Tremont Eagles (Tremont, MS), 36-29 in a league bout.

With the win, Wheeler upgrades its record to 9-14 on the season. The Eagles host Biggersville (Corinth, MS) to play the Lions in a 1A Region 1 bout on Thursday, February 1. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 14-7. Biggersville won 64-42 in their recent league bout against Thrasher (Booneville, MS)

Next up, the Eagles play the Smithville Seminoles (Smithville, MS) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 1. Tremont will attempt to upgrade on its 10-13 season record. The Seminoles go into the bout with a 9-16 record after their 48-26 league win over Houlka (Houlka, MS).
