February 28, 2023: Hughes Springs, TX 75656 Hughes Springs Mustangs (Hughes Springs, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Pittsburg Pirates (Pittsburg, TX), 10-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Mustangs now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Decatur for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 3. Hughes Springs will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Burkburnett (Burkburnett, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 9-5.
With the loss, Pittsburg falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Rivercrest (Bogata, TX) to battle the Rebels in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 7. The Rebels enter the challenge with a record of 4-6. Rivercrest won 4-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Honey Grove (Honey Grove, TX)
