The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) and the host Mountain Pointe Pride (Phoenix, AZ), observed Chaparral's football squad defeat Mountain Pointe by a count of 28-9.

The Firebirds now own a 6-2 record. They play next when they host Pinnacle for a 6A Desert Valley contest on Friday, October 25. Chaparral will encounter a Pioneers squad coming off a 41-17 league win over Liberty (Peoria, AZ). The Pioneers record now stands at 7-1.

Coming up next, the Pride encounter the Desert Ridge Jaguars (Mesa, AZ) in a 6A Central contest, on Friday, October 25. Mountain Pointe will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record. The Jaguars go into the contest with a 4-4 record after their 33-14 league win over Queen Creek (Queen Creek, AZ).
