In Friday's league match, the visiting University Pioneers football squad scored a close 14-10 victory over the Pontiac Indians.

In their next game, the Pioneers clash with the Prairie Central Hawks (Fairbury, IL) in a Corn Belt match, on Friday, October 24. University will attempt to move on its 5-3 season record. The Hawks enter the match with a 3-5 record after their 53-16 non-league loss to Mater Dei (Breese, IL).

The Indians (4-4) will now prepare for their match against Metamora (Metamora, IL). The Redbirds enter the non-league match with a 8-0 record. In their last match, Metamora held off Morton (Morton, IL), 45-10, in a league match.
