Michigan High School Basketball - Fremont nips Newaygo
February 9, 2016: Newaygo, MI 49337 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Fremont Packers (Fremont, MI) and the host Newaygo Lions (Newaygo, MI), saw Fremont's basketball squad hold off Newaygo by a count of 61-54.
With the victory, Fremont upgrades its record to 5-10 on the campaign. The Packers travel to Fruitport (Fruitport, MI) to play the Trojans in a Lakes 8 challenge on Friday, February 12. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 5-9. Fruitport lost 67-52 in their recent non-league challenge against North Muskegon (North Muskegon, MI)
Next up, the Lions play the Chippewa Hills Warriors (Remus, MI) in a Central State - Gold challenge, on Friday, February 12. Newaygo will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 1-10 record after their 63-60 non-league win over White Cloud (White Cloud, MI).
