Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Essex Trojans (Tappahannock, VA) and the host Lunenburg Central Chargers (Victoria, VA), saw Essex's basketball squad knock off Lunenburg Central by a tally of 76-56.

With the victory, Essex improves its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Trojans host Rappahannock (Warsaw, VA) to play the Raiders in a Northern Neck challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 2-8. Rappahannock lost 42-39 in their recent non-league challenge against Surry County (Dendron, VA)

Next up, the Chargers play the Randolph-Henry Statesmen (Charlotte Court House, VA) in a James River challenge, on Tuesday, January 17.
