Iowa High School Softball - Mid-Prairie holds off Charles City
June 30, 2023: Wellman, IA 52356 Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks (Wellman, IA) and the visiting Charles City Comets (Charles City, IA), witnessed Mid-Prairie's softball squad tip Charles City by a count of 2-0.
The Golden Hawks now sport a 16-18 record. They play next when they host North Scott for a non-league match on Saturday, July 1. Mid-Prairie will meet a Lancers squad coming off a 12-0 non-league win over Bondurant-Farrar (Bondurant, IA). The Lancers record now stands at 16-9.
With the loss, Charles City moves to 16-14 on the season. The Comets travel to West Liberty (West Liberty, IA) to meet the Comets in a non-league match on Saturday, July 1. The Comets go into the match with a record of 17-11. West Liberty won 9-8 in their recent non-league match against Davenport West (Davenport, IA)
