Illinois High School Basketball - Bloomington holds off Kankakee
December 27, 2023: Bloomington, IL 61701 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Bloomington Purple Raiders (Bloomington, IL) and the visiting Kankakee Kays (Kankakee, IL), saw Bloomington's basketball squad hold off Kankakee by a tally of 51-47.
With the victory, Bloomington improves its record to 6-8 on the campaign. The Purple Raiders travel to Normal Community (Normal, IL) to confront the Ironmen in a Big Twelve challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Ironmen come into the challenge with a record of 14-1. Normal Community won 75-29 in their recent non-league challenge against Rochester (Rochester, IL)
Next up, the Kays confront the Rock Island Rocks (Rock Island, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 28. Kankakee will attempt to improve on its 10-6 season record. The Rocks come into the challenge with a 5-9 record after their 53-46 non-league loss to Washington (Washington, IL).
