In Friday's league match, the host Poquoson Islanders football squad scored a close 10-7 victory over the New Kent Trojans.

In their next game, the Islanders clash with the Smithfield Packers (Smithfield, VA) in a Bay Rivers match, on Friday, September 30. Poquoson will attempt to move on its 3-1 season record. The Packers enter the match with a 2-2 record after their 42-0 league loss to Warhill (Williamsburg, VA).
