In Friday's league game, the Natchitoches Central Chiefs (Natchitoches, LA) football team knocked off the host Byrd Yellow Jackets (Shreveport, LA), by a score of 23-10.

The Chiefs (5-0) will now prepare for their game against Southwood (Shreveport, LA). The Cowboys come into the 5A District 1 game with a 0-5 record. In their last game, Southwood was knocked off by Airline (Bossier City, LA), 36-14, in a league game.

The Yellow Jackets now sport a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Parkway for a 5A District 1 game on Thursday, October 7. Byrd will battle a Panthers team coming off a 46-21 league loss to Captain Shreve (Shreveport, LA). The Panthers record now stands at 3-2.
