Orcutt Academy Spartans (Orcutt, CA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Morro Bay Pirates (Morro Bay, CA), 52-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Orcutt Academy upgrades its record to 18-4 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Arroyo Grande (Arroyo Grande, CA) to play the Eagles in a Mountain bout on Wednesday, February 1. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 15-9. Arroyo Grande won 50-41 in their recent league bout against Nipomo (Nipomo, CA)

Next up, the Pirates play the Cabrillo Conquistadores (Lompoc, CA) in a Mountain bout, on Wednesday, February 1. Morro Bay will attempt to upgrade on its 10-12 season record. The Conquistadores come into the bout with a 9-14 record after their 55-47 league loss to Mission Prep (San Luis Obispo, CA).
