Connecticut High School Basketball - Pomperaug can't hold off Oxford
January 17, 2012: Oxford, CT 06478 The Oxford Wolverines basketball team scored 63 points and restricted the visiting Pomperaug Panthers to 56 in the Wolverines non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Wolverines now sport a 2-8 record. They play next when they travel to Bunnell for a non-league contest on Friday, January 20. Oxford will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 62-49 non-league loss to Immaculate (Danbury, CT). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-6.
The Panthers (3-7) will now prepare for their contest against Masuk (Monroe, CT). The Panthers come into the Southwest - Colonial contest with a 3-7 record. In their last contest, Masuk was nudged by Kolbe-Cathedral (Bridgeport, CT), 45-38, in a non-league contest.
